Diagnostic Imaging Clerk - Ultrasound/Nuc Med/CT Booking clerk

POSITION: CLERK

UNIT: DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING

SALARY: $22.77- $24.75

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:  

Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, the incumbent is responsible for providing booking support services within the department. This position  will be to book tests/procedures, answering phones and inquires, retrieving and distributing files, managing inpatient and outpatient request lists, and other general clerical duties as required.  Multi tasking with using two software systems at once.  You will create e-referrals in Novari,  provide support to the modality by supporting the daily needs of the modality.  Ensuring that all requisitions are accurate and present for all patient appointments.  Main duties will be to book Ultrasound/Nuc Med and CT patients, answer phones/vocera. Provide coverage to the registration desk when required. 

 

HOURS: 08:30-16:30

Must be able to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays. In addition, the successful candidate must be willing to work 4 hour, 7.5 hour and 11.25 hour shifts when required.

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Diploma/degree in medical office administration, health care administration or related field is required.
  • Required Minimum of two (2) years experience in a Diagnostic Imaging Department with a strong background/knowledge of Ultrasound/Nuclear medicine and CT bookings.  
  • Knowledge of WTIS 
  • Knowledge of Cerner registration and booking tools using Diagnostic Imaging scheduling templates, and completing booking through Cerner DI Bookshelf.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service in all interactions with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently with a strong attention to detail within a fast paced/high volume environment.
  • Strong ability to sort incoming requests using critical thinking in order to prioritize Urgent, semi-Urgent and elective bookings.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision, utilizing effective organizational skills in an ever-changing environment.
  • Acceptable attendance record in accordance with STEGH’s Attendance at Work Program.
  • Acceptable performance record that is aligned with STEGH values.
