Ocean Export Coordinator

Position Title: Ocean Export Coordinator
Branch: Mississauga, Ontario
Reports to: Ocean Export Supervisor


Job Purpose:
This role is responsible for daily Ocean Import operations and a high level of customer service.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Co-ordinate shipment routings with clients, agents and our company / Agent offices.
• Open files and complete all documents accurately (bills of lading, CERS/ B13’s…etc).
• Trace shipments on a daily basis.
• Update clients and agents on status of their shipment.
• Arrange pickup and delivery of shipments with clients (both LCL and FCL).
• Liaison between clients, agents and carriers.
• Issue invoices accurately and within 48 hours if possible.
• Issue intent to claim (whenever needed).
• Accrue pending charges.
• Approve payables.
• Update costs with agents and carriers.
• Request profit share.
• Request and follow up on POD’s and update system.
• Paper save documents.
• Close export files accurately and completely.
• Maintain and update client status report(s).
• File away closed files in boxes in numerical order.
• Reception lunch coverage.
• After hours as required.
• Other tasks as required.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Post-secondary education in Logistics or Supply Chain or equivalent.
• CITT or CIFFA certification is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of principles and concepts of the Ocean Import environment.
• 2 to 3 years of industry experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing.
• Organizational Awareness: aware of customer needs and ability to provide awareness of customer needs, and able to provide solid customer service.
• Organizational Skills (prioritize, plan, assign and control).
• Strong Analytical skills.
