We are the sole provider of paramedic services within the County of Lanark, providing 24-hour pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency care and transportation to and between hospitals for individuals experiencing injury or illness.

We are currently seeking a Temporary (0.8 FTE) Administrative Assistant - Scheduling Coordinator to join our team located at the Smiths Falls paramedic base.  Reporting to the Chief of the Lanark County Paramedic Service  you will provide administrative support including answering phones, mail processing, records management, invoice processing, scheduling, payroll support, and other day to day clerical functions of the paramedic service.

 Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with payroll systems would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience working with scheduling software in a unionized environment, such as JBS-Time Manager etc.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in administrative support preferably in a Healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with Collective Agreement interpretation
  • Graduate of a Community College Office Administration/Secretarial Diploma program, Business Administration or Communication program, related post-secondary program.
  • Negative Criminal record check valid within last six (6) months

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills with database and spreadsheet programs (Excel), word processing programs (MS Word), and presentation programs (PowerPoint). Ability to effectively and efficiently learn new technologies and applications.
  • Advanced organizational skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and exercise good judgment in taking appropriate actions
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively and independently with frequent interruptions

This is a temporary contract for approximately six (6) months, with the possibility of extension.  The contract may be ended with two weeks’ notice to the incumbent.
