HVAC Technician

Taber, AB

Job type:  Full-time, Permanent (Mon-Friday + on call) 

We are currently looking to hire a HVAC Technician for our facility in Taber, AB as well as farms in Alberta and Saskatchewan. We supply row crop farmers with the equipment and systems to plant, feed, protect, harvest, store and process crops like potatoes, carrots, onions, beans, garlic, and other specialty crops.

Responsibilities 

  • Install, repair, and maintain heating and ventilation systems in storages. 
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure proper installation and troubleshooting. 
  • Test electrical circuits and components and use specific tools and equipment to check for leaks and other malfunctions. 
  • Diagnose and solve various HVAC problems, such as refrigerant leaks, compressor failures and thermostat malfunctions. 
  • Collaborate with contractors and clients to ensure that projects meet specifications and budgets. 
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including wearing protective gear and working in confined spaces. 
  • Keep detailed records of work performed, including materials used, time taken and costs incurred. 
  • Train apprentices and supervise less experienced technicians. 
  • Stay current with advances in technology and industry standards by attending training and continuing education programs.

 

Requirements 

  • You need a combination of education and experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and some post-secondary education preferred
  • Certificate or diploma in HVAC technology an asset.
  • Hands-on experience working with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Working knowledge of safety procedures and work independently.
