POSITION: HAND THERAPIST - OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST OR PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Stratford
Regular Part-Time
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapist are regulated health professionals who work with patients, families and caregivers to provide a patient-centered and evidence-based approach to care.  The Hand Therapist is an active member of the rehabilitation team who is responsible for assessing, planning, administering and evaluating treatments in accordance with the client’s requirements.  
 
The Hand Therapist will provide comprehensive therapy to outpatients following various hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder injuries, surgeries and medical conditions.  
 
REPORTS TO:    Manager, Therapies and Professional Practice
 
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
 
SALARY: $39.19 to $54.66 per hour
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: 
- Graduate of a recognized accredited program and member of the college of Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
- Member in good standing with respective College
- BLS Certification required
- Certification as a Hand Therapist preferred 
 
Experience:
- Previous clinical Hand Therapy experience in the management of acute post-operative orthopaedic conditions, acute and chronic soft tissue sprains/strains/medical/plastic surgery conditions, wide variety of treatment approaches for hands, wrists, elbows and upper extremity static and dynamic splinting 
-Demonstrated knowledge and experience with musculoskeletal/neurological injuries with protocols
- Experience with outpatient service delivery 
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices.
 
Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to practice effectively in an interprofessional collaborative environment.
- Working knowledge of and experience with theories and principles guiding adult learning and patient self-management approaches.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, problem solving and innovation skills.
- Proven flexibility and a high level of initiative.
- Evidence of continued professional growth and/or professional development
- Appreciation of resource utilization.
- Computer skills, including Meditech, MS Office
