POSITION: EATING DISORDERS OUTREACH WORKER
Eating Disorders Program Outreach Program 
Regular Part-Time 
 
POSITION SUMMARY: The Eating Disorders Program Outreach Worker is responsible for providing clinical services and education relating to eating disorders to clients and their families. The service delivered is an Outreach Program of the London Health Sciences Centre Eating Disorders Program. The Outreach Worker will be responsible for providing evidence-informed psychotherapeutic interventions while supporting clients and their families in the program.  They will be responsible for assessing and creating a comprehensive treatment plans that are inclusive of family, physicians, and community supports as needed. The Outreach Worker will support and facilitate sector relationships and partnerships that build seamless care pathways between HPHA and our pediatric partners. The Outreach Worker will participate in program design and implementation of quality improvement initiatives. 
  
REPORTS TO: Manager, Outpatient Mental Health

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Required
• Masters of Social Work is required
• Current registration and in good standing with the OCSWSSW
• Current licensure with appropriate college or association
• Extensive knowledge of evidence-informed psychotherapeutic interventions including Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Focused Based Therapy, and other innovative modalities for clients and families for treatment of eating disorders
• Extensive knowledge of the Recovery Principles and Recovery Model
Preferred 
• Completion of a crisis intervention certificate program 
• Current CPR certification 
 
Experience:
• Minimum three years’ current progressive clinical experience supporting individuals with an eating disorder in hospital or community setting.
• Minimum three years’ experience in the assessment of children, adolescents and adults in the area of eating disorders. 
• Extensive experience in individual, family support and group therapy.
 
Abilities:
• Excellent assessment skills.
• Knowledge and familiarity with psychiatric disorders and treatment thereof would be an asset
• Presentation skills are required to explain the program to a variety of stakeholders.
• High level of initiative, superior communication, organizational skills and time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal relations, problem-solving, written/verbal communication and conflict resolution.
• Knowledge and expertise in community services and resources; discharge planning and community networking resources.
• Demonstrated skills in providing education to health care team and community.
• Computer literate.
• Travel to support patient care throughout Huron and Perth.
• Valid driver’s license and auto endorsement insurance.
• Ability to travel to patient’s home to provide assessment and care as required.
