Role Overview:

The Compounding Manager will manage the daily and long term objectives of the Compounding production areas. Provide direction/guidance for manufacturing projects. Assure operations are in compliance with all Safety, GMPs, and SOPs etc. guidelines. Assist and develop team leaders and leads in the management of department personnel and floor operations. Assure all non-conformance investigations are thorough and accurately assess the situation as well as provide sound corrective actions. Manage and track critical department metrics including spending, batch manufacturing performance, safety, and manufacturing quality metrics. Be a leader to assure team performance shows continuous improvement.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily activities for compounding department
  • Train, coach, and motivate staff to ensure good morale and a high level of productivity
  • Implement initiatives aimed at improving processes, safety, quality, and efficiencies while achieving cost reductions and meeting production deadlines
  • Determine, recruit, and train for each function to ensure uninterrupted service
  • Performance monitoring and evaluation of compounders with effective daily communication.
  • Implement and manage departmental goals and objectives
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure an ongoing Continuous Improvement Program.
  • Ensure work areas are safe through the compounding and pre-weighing areas
  • Maintain department safety and GMP goals
  • Manage departmental activities, work order signoff, organize workflow based on schedule, decision making, inventory control, and supply replenishment
  • Increase productivity, efficiency and quality through Process Improvement based on current acceptable standards
  • Reduce operating costs
  • Establish and implement a daily Production schedule to meet daily/monthly output requirements
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent in related chemistry or mechanic engineering fields
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or food industries
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Equipment and process knowledge
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good knowledge of ERP/MRP system
  • Computer literate in MS word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, & E-mail
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
