Dispatcher - Transportation

Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for all activities involved in effectively covering all required trucks and shipments. By relaying information, directing resources and problem solving, you will work to ensure trucks are moving and customer freight is delivered in the most efficient manner possible therefore contributing to operational success and driver retention.

RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES:
- Plan inbound/outbound/local/brokered loads for key customer accounts.
- Allocate drivers and equipment efficiently to meet customer requirements, maximizing lane profitability and equipment use through planning, sourcing of acceptable loads and minimization of empty miles.
- Develop and implement appropriate plans for achieving cost efficiency, quality improvements, improved responsiveness, and department objectives.
- Manage and resolve escalated issues.
- On-call as required, currently one night per week.
- Work with other Dispatchers to coordinate shipments.
- Provide exceptional customer service with a proactive approach.
- Follow all internal processes and consistently and accurately update TMS.
- Promote and support all company policies and initiatives to ensure the safety of our employees, customers, property, the environment and the public.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years Dispatch experience in the trucking industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical decision-making capabilities.
- TMW, Isaac, or HOS knowledge an asset.
- Proficient with Windows operating system.
