NOTICE OF VACANCY
 
POSITION: REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE 
Integrated Stroke Unit/Telemetry 
Primary Site: Stratford
Regular Part-Time
(Shifts: 12-hour day/nights, 7 days/week may be subject to change)
 
REPORTS TO: Manager, ICU, Telemetry, Stroke and Cardiorespiratory Program
 
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
 
SALARY: $34.94 to $37.05 per hour
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BLS Certification
 
EXPERIENCE:
- Recent clinical experience (minimum two years) in Cardiac Care and Acute Stroke/Stroke Rehab Nursing preferred
- Recent related courses, in-services in Cardiac Care Nursing and Acute Stroke/Stroke Rehab Nursing preferred
 
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal 
- Excellent physical assessment skills
- Ability to understand and interpret typical and atypical telemetry and cardiac monitoring preferred
 
REQUIRED SKILLS (to be completed within 3 months of hire):
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Recent Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course or equivalent (current experience)
- Recent 12 lead ECG interpretation course, or equivalent (current experience)
