We are looking for a certified Industrial Mechanic/Millwright with 3 to 5 years experiences to join our maintenance department.

Applicants should have a good working knowledge of hydraulics, gas and pneumatic equipment, CMMS, and welding and burning equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive instructions covering scheduled and emergency repairs. Install and inspect work to be done. Reads drawings and precision measuring tools.
• Inspect mill equipment for defects such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc. Determine the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production. Advise on the condition of the plant's equipment.
• Dismantle, clean, adjust, repair, align, replace, install, maintain, assemble, and lubricate mechanical equipment. Make either temporary or permanent repairs. Operate maintenance shop tools and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair all plant hydraulic, water, lubrication, and air or gas systems and their associated equipment. Determine the cause of failure and decide on the best method and materials to expedite proper economical repairs to restore equipment operation.
• Work with the repair crew as directed on an emergency basis. Erect scaffolds and performs crane hooking/rigging as required.
• Perform minor welding, burning, and pipefitting jobs as required.
• Receive instructions, drawings, and work orders for jobs. Interpret drawings, plan the details for the working procedure, and select required tools and materials.
• Use CMMS system.
• Arrange for the handling of materials and equipment to perform job.
• Work with other trades, as required to maintain mill production.
• Provide feedback to lead hand and/or foreman about job status.
• Maintain the immediate working area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Observe all safety rules.

REQUIREMENTS

• 433A interprovincial Industrial Mechanic certification
• 5+ years of industrial millwright experience preferred
• In-depth knowledge of the Rod Mill process
• Bilingual: English and French an asset
• Able to complete a criminal background check upon successful hire

• Ability to commute/relocate to L'orignal, ON

CONDITIONS AND BENEFITS

• Salary: from $45.11/hour with certification
• Full-time, permanent position
• Night shift premium: +$2.00/hour
• Weekend shift premium: +$2.00/hour
