Founded in 2006, Seltrek Electric Ltd. is a family‑owned electrical contractor based in Calgary and serving clients across Canada. Our primary focus is multifamily wood‑frame and concrete residential projects as well as in new construction with some commercial and some renovations.

• Position Overview

We are hiring 1st–4th Year Apprentices to perform rough‑in for door access systems/ security cameras, finishing, and system installation work in multifamily residential construction. You will contribute to high‑quality electrical installations while working in a safe, structured, and professional environment.

•  Key Responsibilities

Electrical Installation

- Complete rough‑in and finishing work in wood‑frame multifamily construction

- Install wiring, switches, receptacles, lighting, and distribution panels

- Install fire alarms, emergency lighting, and general lighting systems

- Perform conduit and slab work in parkades

- Install door access systems and security cameras

Technical & Job Site Duties

- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams

- Prepare tools, materials, and work areas for efficient workflow

- Perform system tests to ensure function, safety, and code compliance

- Identify minor issues and escalate larger concerns as necessary

Safety & Standards

- Follow all company and industry safety guidelines

- Maintain a clean, organized, professional workspace

- Ensure proper and safe operation of tools and PPE

Teamwork & Leadership

- Work independently or collaboratively depending on job requirements

- Journeymen provide support and mentorship to apprentices

•  Key Qualifications

Required:

- Registered 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Year Apprentice

- Minimum 6 months experience in wood‑frame residential construction

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

- Strong understanding of electrical systems

- Reliable, professional, and safety‑minded

- Must have own tools and PPE

- Complete daily hazard assessments

- Comply with on site safety standards

- Participate in weekly toolbox talk

- Reliable transportation to get to and from work

•  Preferred

- 2+ years electrical experience

- Valid Driver’s Licence

- Apprenticeship Certification

- Plus: 9.6% earnings paid out on paycheck (Vacation Pay 4%/ Stat Holiday Pay 5.6%)
