ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager – Clinical Innovation, the Coordinator – Clinical Practice & Learning works in collaboration with clinical managers and teams, and provides mentorship, education, professional and clinical skill development to support the implementation of best practice strategies into direct client centred care. As part of the Collaborative Practice team and in consultation with managers and teams, the key responsibilities include identifying learning needs and planning; implementing and evaluating education opportunities in line with the strategic priorities; acting as a role model in clinical excellence and corporate principles; and providing leadership to staff in advancing clinical performance through consultation, role modeling, education, coaching, and mentoring.

WHAT YOU BRING
Education/Experience:
- Degree in nursing together with an unrestricted certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Significant recent and relevant clinical nursing experience
- Experience assessing clinical skills and developing education strategies based on adult learning principles and acceptable educational theories that promote quality care
- Knowledge and/or experience with learning management systems
- Knowledge of and/or experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Knowledgeable of and ability to interpret applicable acts and legislation
Skills/Abilities:
- Expert skills and an advanced level of clinical competence in the management of the clients with medically complex and rehabilitative care needs
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to deliver presentations to a variety of audiences
- Ability to clearly and concisely share information with others to enhance their working knowledge on items such as policies, programs, procedures and computer operations
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with superiors, colleagues, students, SJCG employee, general public, external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, interdependently, and participate as a contributing member of a variety of teams within the workplace and ministries/agencies to meet program goals and objectives
- Strong project/time management, analytical/critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead, mentor, coach, and motivate staff and students; ability to provide input into employee performance
- Ability to accurately compile, compare, calculate, identify, and summarize data
- Must be at a basic level in word processing, spreadsheet software, and presentation software
- Ability to participate/lead quality improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work
Assets
- Master’s in Nursing, or other health-related field
- Membership with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
- Experience with the Dual Code learning management system
- Previous experience as a clinical nurse educator or clinical instructor
- Designation as a Canadian Certified Nurse Educator (CCNE); or like certification
- Canadian Nurses Association Certification(s)
- Fluency in a second language would be an asset
Conditions of Employment:
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
- Will be required to travel to various work locations and provide own transportation
