Boom Truck Drivers – Class 3 with Air

 

Springhill Lumber (Wholesale) Ltd. is looking for an experienced Boom Truck Drivers. These positions are Monday to Friday, with some overtime required. This is a hands-on role that involves both driving and physical labour. The Boom Truck Drivers are responsible for safely loading, securing, transporting, and delivering building materials to customers and vendor job sites using a boom truck.

The successful candidates will receive full company-paid benefits after 90 days.

 

Rate of Pay: Depending on Experience

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform labour-intensive deliveries by booming different building materials, including roofing supplies, shingles, drywall, and related products, to customers and vendors’ job sites daily;
  • Load and unload materials following proper safe work procedures and requirements;
  • Ensure orders are accurately filled, loaded, and secured according to all safe work procedures;
  • Pick up excess building materials from job sites as instructed and complete the required paperwork;
  • Complete all required paperwork promptly and accurately, including noting any order shortages or changes;
  • Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of company vehicles;
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Class 3 with Air driver’s licence;
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission;
  • Crane and rigging certification;
  • Obtain and hold a clean Driver’s Abstract (must be current within 3 months);
  • Fall protection certification is desired, but we will train the right candidate;
  • Ability to perform physical labour daily, including lifting and carrying (over 50 lbs.), bending repeatedly on a daily basis;
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written) with excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Must be a team player who is friendly, reliable, and organized;
  • Forklift licence is desired but not required;
  • Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced, demanding work environment;
  • Reliable vehicle is required, as this is a non-bus route.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to dust and extreme changes in temperature and weather when working outdoors year-round.
  • Safety boots and safety equipment are required.
  • Work in a busy, high-volume environment.
