Executive Chef - Campus Dining

About the Role

Are you a passionate culinary leader looking to make an impact? Our collegiate dining  division is seeking an experienced, motivated Executive Chef to lead our food service operations in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.

In this role, you will oversee campus dining operations, prepare high-quality, nutritious meals, and deliver exceptional catering for special events. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and want to shape the student dining experience, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Culinary Leadership: Supervise all phases of food production, including meal preparation, purchasing, food specifications, service, and strict sanitation standards.

  • Menu Development & Cost Control: Create standardized recipes and utilize kitchen production tools to meet food quality standards and financial/budgetary goals.

  • Event Catering: Participate in the planning, creation, and execution of campus-wide special events and high-profile catering.

  • Kitchen Management: Drive quality assurance, inventory management, and kitchen team performance.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of progressive culinary management experience (Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Culinary Director).

  • Proven experience managing kitchen budgets, cost of goods, and financial statements.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field.

  • Background in higher education, high-volume dining, or corporate dining services.

  • Salary: Up to $75,000 / year (Commensurate with experience)
