JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to perform specialized electrical work in the repair, installation, and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment in CCWA buildings and facilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Performs maintenance and repairs on lighting, phone systems, camera systems and data cabling networks to maintain systems in proper operating requirements.
- Performs and assists with trouble shooting, installation, and repair of motor controls, switch gear, GSI, electrical gates, outlets, and main electrical equipment and systems.
- Resets breakers.
- Assists with the installation and troubleshooting of communication equipment for the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system and related networks.
- Obtains quotes for electrical equipment and repair parts; obtains quotes and reports for annual fire and sprinkler inspections; manages plant generator preventative maintenance inspections; and monitors work and repair recommendations for any repairs to associated equipment.
- Maps out generator slabs of new generators.
- Relocates copiers, televisions, and similar equipment.
- Processes a variety of documentation associated with Department/Division operations within designated timeframes and per established procedures.
- Operates or uses various equipment, power tools, hand tools, and supplies in order to complete work assignments; operates and maintains service truck, electrical tools, and other tools and equipment.
- Works on-call as needed.
- Performs other assigned duties.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
- High school diploma or equivalent; five (5) years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, journeyman experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all CCWA or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Georgia driver’s license
- Preferred: Class 1 or 2 Electrician’s License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as heavy work involving lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. If someone can do heavy work, then he or she can also do medium, light, and sedentary work.
