Mission Island Group (MIG) is looking for a versatile Class 1 Driver (Manual Transmission)*** to support our growing trucking, recycling, and waste management operations. This is a permanent, full-time position offering stable, year-round work with a variety of equipment, sites, and hauling assignments.
Our drivers play an important role in keeping materials moving safely and efficiently between facilities, customers, and disposal or recycling sites. You will be hauling loads into and out of Fisher Road Recycling and servicing commercial and municipal customers throughout the South Island
We're looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their equipment, and is willing to jump in where needed. The ideal candidate is adaptable, safety-focused, and comfortable operating different trucks and trailers as operational requirements change.

- Competitive Compensation - starting wage of $33.00/hour (negotiable based on experience)

- Consistent, year-round work with an expanding fleet and growing operation
- Safely operate manual transmission Class 1 vehicles, including end dumps, walking floors, transfer trailers, and other equipment as assigned.
- Quad and Pup work as needed to support business operations
- Transport waste, recyclables, aggregates, soil, and other materials throughout Southern Vancouver Island.
- Utilize mobile dispatch and routing software to receive assignments and update delivery information.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation, including maintenance concernsto help ensure equipment remains in safe operating condition.
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies, transportation regulations, and WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Provide professional customer service and represent the company positively at all locations.
- Support changing operational requirements with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Valid Class 1 Driver's Licence with Manual Transmission competency***
- Safe and clean driving record.
- Experience operating end dumps, walking floors, transfer trailers, or similar equipment is an asset.
- Experience with 53-foot trailers is an asset.
- Comfortable using mobile devices and dispatching software.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Adaptable and willing to work across various routes, sites, and equipment types.
- Knowledge of trucking, landfill, recycling, and industrial safety practices is an asset.
- Availability for occasional Saturday shifts based on operational requirements.
Licence/Certification: Class 1 Licence (Manual Transmission Required)***
