POSITION: Construction Worker / General Labourer

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

JOB SUMMARY:

The Construction Worker (General Labourer) is responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks on construction sites to support building, repair, and maintenance projects. This role involves assisting skilled tradespeople, operating basic tools and equipment, and ensuring the site is safe, clean, and organized. The position requires physical stamina, attention to safety procedures, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities Include:

• Assist with general construction tasks including site preparation, demolition, and cleanup
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
• Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision
• Support skilled trades (carpenters, welders, electricians, etc.) as needed
• Follow instructions from supervisors and foremen
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Assist with measuring, cutting, and assembling materials
• Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods
• Help set up and dismantle temporary structures (scaffolding, barriers, etc.)

Basic Requirements:

• Previous construction or labour experience preferred
• Ability to perform manual labour and work outdoors in varying conditions
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety practices
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the role
• Experience in a specific trade (e.g., carpentry, welding, masonry)
• Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA or equivalent)
• Must obtain a valid Bermuda Intermediate Driver's License within six months of commencement of employment / company vehicles can be utilized for practicing and testing
• Must obtain reliable transportation to and from work
• Must maintain all professional certifications required for the position while employed
• Must maintain medical fitness for duty as required and provide annual medical certificates as requested
