Tile (Marble & Granite) Fabricator/Specialist

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

JOB SUMMARY: Perform installations, repairs or general maintenance as required by Management.

Responsibilities Include:

• Layer building materials such as bricks, concrete, tiles and other construction materials.
• Fabricate, alter, repair and maintain walls, sidewalks, street curbs floor bathroom showers, sink counters, partitions, manholes, and other related structures or surfaces.
• Assist in measuring, polishing, and fabricating slabs of Granite, Marble and Quartz.
• Lay and set tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs.
• Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and opening using hand and power cutting tools.
• Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
• Interpret blueprints, parts catalogs and service manuals.
• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Handle basic repairs and maintenance.
• Diagnose issues and correct them.
• Repair machines, equipment and/or structures as necessary.
• Work in a safe manner and report any safety and health issues to management.
• Any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Three to five (3 to 5) years working with Granite, Marble and Quartz and knowledge of general maintenance duties
• Ability to meet deadlines and complete projects on schedule
• Ability to use common tiling tools and other tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches
• Experience with using precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices
• Experience performing routine maintenance
• Ability to take on a variety of tasks and while working under pressure
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – Capable of maintaining effective working relationships with staff at all levels
• A mature self-motivator who can work independently with minimum supervision
• Candidate must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position
• Available to respond to calls out at all hours
