POSITION: RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION SPECIALIST
Temporary Full-Time – approximately 12 months

POSITION SUMMARY: As part of the Human Resources Team, the Recruitment and Retention Specialist will develop and administer staffing initiatives that support the organization’s strategic objectives. As a customer-oriented Human Resources Professional, the Recruitment and Retention Specialist will work with operational leaders to develop and implement specific recruitment plans and strategies for various positions across HPHA. In addition to providing recruitment guidance and advice to all levels of Management, the Recruitment and Retention Specialist will research and recommend recruitment and retention best practices to the Director, Human Resources. The Recruitment and Retention Specialist will be responsible for all associated administrative duties and will assist with HR initiatives as required.

REPORTS TO: Director, Human Resources

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
- Undergraduate Degree and/or College Diploma in Human Resources required
- CHRP Designation preferred but not required. Willingness to acquire CHRP within a designated timeframe is necessary.

Experience:
- Minimum two years’ experience in a Human Resources Department preferred.

Abilities:
- Highly developed level of maturity as demonstrated by sound decision-making skills, excellent judgement and assessment skills
- Strong command of the English language – both written and verbal with excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated presentation and public speaking skills
- Excellent keyboarding and computer skills: proficient in Word-processing, Spreadsheet and Graphics software packages – demonstrated ability to create innovative information pamphlets etc.
- Demonstrated ability to be creative and innovative
- Highly developed ability to organize and prioritize.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred.
- Working knowledge of relevant Human Resources legislation.
- Ability to commit to a highly confidential environment.
- Able to represent the organization in a professional manner.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License with access to own vehicle. Travel is required throughout Huron-Perth region with occasional travel to major centres.
